COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Audio Engineering CTE program prepares students for the vast world in audio and music production. Our brand new recording facility has the most state of the art audio production equipment and students will be able to create, mix and produce music in a variety of ways for tv, films, and radio.
Our brand new facility features a 120 square foot sound isolation recording booth, 28 student MAC production stations and professional equipment to work on by Neve, API, Pultec, Empirical Labs, Avalon, Universal Audio, Solid State Logic, Focusrite, Chandler, Manley, Warm Audio, Heritage Audio, Daking, Drawmer, DBX, Lexicon, Eventide, Neuman, Beyerdynamic, Royer, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, AKG, Coles, Allen and Heath, Shure, Turbosound, and many more…
CERTIFICATION
There is a multitude of certifications that can be earned by graduation. They include Career and Technical Education Advanced Regents Diploma, Skills USA Assessment in Audio and Radio Production, and Dante Level One User Certification

Local One is the premier stagehand union of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E). We are the Brothers and Sisters who construct, install, maintain, and operate the lighting and sound equipment, the scenery and special effects which thrill and delight audiences attending Broadway shows, concerts at Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall, the magnificent, spectacular productions at The Metropolitan Opera and throughout Lincoln Center, and the many entertaining broadcasts from CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, and PBS. Live Sound Engineer
A live sound engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of sound during live performances, such as concerts, theater productions, or corporate events. Their primary goal is to ensure that the sound being produced by the performers is heard clearly and at an appropriate volume by the audience. They work with a variety of equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, amplifiers, and speakers, to achieve this goal. Live sound engineers need to be highly skilled in their craft, as live performances present unique challenges that require quick thinking and problem-solving abilities. They need to be able to adjust to changes in the performance on the fly, such as changes in volume or instrumentation, and ensure that the sound quality remains consistent and of high quality throughout the event. They also need to be able to communicate effectively with performers, other technicians, and event organizers to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the performance runs smoothly. Audio Engineer
An audio engineer is responsible for editing, posting and setting up audiovisual events and conferences. They work with vendors and project managers to certify new installations and recommend new equipment. Audio engineers also actively participate in the design, configuration, implementation and optimization of related technology platforms. When dealing with large teams, audio engineers may train employees and clients on systems testing, upgrading and troubleshooting. Average Salary $100k

Acoustical Engineer
Acoustical engineering is the science of sound and vibration in technology. An acoustical engineer works with noise, vibration, and acoustics. You use equipment to measure, manipulate, and analyze sound as part of your daily responsibilities. Duties involve improving sound quality, reducing noise, and managing sound pollution on an environmental and human comfort scale. You assess the impact of sound on animals, people, and the environment. Jobs in acoustical engineering exist in the construction industry, both in the public and private sectors.
