COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Digital Media + Communications is a CTE track that introduces students to the world of Digital Marketing. We use Entrepreneurship as the catalyst for our units of study. This course begins with understanding Marketing concepts from the perspective of an entrepreneur. Students engage with BUILD NYC, an experiential entrepreneurship curriculum that provides access to real business mentors and investors as they develop, manufacture, market, and sell real products for real profits. Students move on to digital content production and learn Commercial Photography, Advertising Design, Product Videography and Social Media Marketing. Our senior level course engages students in a simulated business on an international scale. By way of the Virtual Enterprises International Program, we prepare our Seniors for successful futures by transforming the classroom into a company experience. Students engage in an in-school, live, global business simulation sharpening skill sets and knowledge base in problem solving, communication, e-commerce, and marketing. With each student taking on important roles in the business the class works united to apply knowledge gained, achieve goals, and reach business milestones.
