Electrical Installation & Theory is a trade school level class that combines Electrical Engineering Theory & Electrical Installation practice. The course is designed to use the theory of how electricity is harnessed to benefit our society. Students will learn how to use electricity wire residential buildings as well as commercial buildings. By learning how to connect electrical conductors to electrical devices, students will understand how to guide electricity in a safe manner that is productive to society.
CERTIFICATION
Students who receive 12 credits in Electrical Installation & Theory will have the opportunity to take an Electrical Installation Certification exam. Additionally, students will be given opportunities to join I.B.E.W Local 3 union through the Construction Skills trade placement program, the MTA, and electrical companies such as Solar One.
Work Based Learning Experiences
Students will obtain 54 Work Based Learning hours during their three years within the program. Through these 54 hours, students will develop career-building skills, working with professionals, as well as attend internships focused on the field of Electrical Installation.
